Lived experience: a vast and often untapped resource


Recently I had the pleasure of participating in the Health and Social Care Academy’s ‘Putting Personal Experience at the Heart of Integration’ seminar. It was an interesting and thought-provoking evening. I had been asked to give a short provocation on the topic of ‘How do we achieve a two way dialogue in health and social care?’ and suggested that we will not achieve our aim of a genuine two-way dialogue until we placed lived experience right at the heart of the design, delivery and review of services.

Realising the Benefits of Digital Technology – Citizen-Led Innovation for Health and Wellbeing

You are invited to our members networking event at the ALLIANCE offices on Tuesday 8 December, 10am arrivals.  The event being held as part of the Health and Social Care Academy’s Integration Series will focus on exploring the benefits of digital technology in improving health and wellbeing including:

  • How do we ensure that people who are disabled and living with long term conditions and disadvantaged by inequalities in health contribute to digitally-enabled health and care?
  • What does participation in this growing market mean for Scottish businesses, public sector and the third sector.

This event will launch a report commissioned by Scottish Enterprise and the ALLIANCE which aims to identify the benefits, opportunities and barriers to encouraging citizen-led innovation for health and wellbeing.
